Jimbo and I had an exciting, busy, and fun-filled Super Bulldog Weekend. Friday night, Jason & Joanna stayed with us and we met some fun friends at the Veranda for a night-before-the-5k meal. We all ran the race the next morning and it was so much fun to meet these friends to kick off the weekend!

The next morning came EARLY! Somehow, we talked my dad into running the 5k with us, so it was quite the family event! After a quick pit stop at CVS to get new i-pod earphones for Jimbo, gum for me (I decided I can't run without it), and some Vitamin Water, we were off and ready to run. We met Jason & Joanna, my parents (my mom came for moral support, of course!), and the rest of the crew in the Cotton District. There was only so much stretching we could do, so we took the opportunity for a "before" photo op.
And... We Did It!! Keep in mind Jimbo & I decided to run this little gig 2 weeks ago, so we were pretty proud of ourselves (and our 26 minute times...)
I must brag for a moment and say the McNeel family really pulled through. My sister-in-law Joanna--- 1st place for her age group. Awesome. Even Awesome-er-est? My Father!! Yes, my dad. Got a trophy. Placed in his age group.Of course, we had to take the "After" pictures:
(back) Dad, Jimbo, Jason, Jonathan, Will, Tom
(front) Me, Joanna, Meredith, Emily, Heatherwhy we all decided to do a cheerleader pose in front of our husbands, I do not know, but after a 3 mile run, I can tell you-- the legs were feeling it!
And finally, another picture from the 5k to show my mom really was there. Joanna disappeared... probably doing some sort of winner's thing we weren't invited to.
After, we all came back to the Hearnsberger Home where we showered, relaxed, and were treated to my mom's wonderful breakfast. Why is everything so much better when your mom makes it? But, no rest for long. The Cotton District Arts Festival and the MSU sports events were waiting...
We had to capture Joanna's first Left Field Lounge Experience!

Finally, we met up with the the Menetres! Jimbo and I love when Bailey & Gracie stay with us in Starkville, and this weekend was no different. Of course, we let them down a bit considering we weren't quite up for a big night out after our long day, but we did enjoy a partial night out at Sushi Martini!

So, there is my weekend recap. Dear Menetres, next time you come back we will be more fun and will not have to take your car home, drop you off on Main Street on the way, and make you listen to your son's Mickey Mouse PlayHouse DVD for a little pre-game music.
